4benefit is a training and support programme for professionals interested in learning
how to conduct high quality energy audits in transport and logistics operations using
EN16247 Parts 1- 4 (ISO50002), within the framework of mandatory energy audits and/or
as part of a process to implement energy efficiency systems such as ISO50001
The Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) framework of measures includes the obligation
for large enterprises in the European Union to carry out an energy audit at least
every four years, with a first energy audit at the latest by 5 December 2015.
The Directive makes clear that energy audits should include an assessment of transportation
energy usage, efficiency and potential for savings.
Energy audits should be high quality audits fulfilling minimum criteria and carried
out in an independent and cost-effective manner by qualified and/or accredited experts.
Professionals who can benefit from 4benefit services are energy and sustainability
managers in enterprises with transport and/or logistics operations, professionals
interested to become qualified external energy auditors in transport, lead assessors
and public servants responsible for programmes to support mandatory or voluntary
energy audits or for quality control of mandatory audit reports.
4benefit is an initiative of leading experts in the field of transport energy audits
and EU energy efficiency audit standards following consultations with energy agencies/authorities
in several member states and in the framework of CEN/CENELEC working groups.
